Boutique Artisanal Coffee
Pedro’s Coffee embodies the vision & passion of our founder, “Pedro”, who helped build the Rwandan coffee industry into the modern internationally recognized brand it is today. It mirrors his long journey, which began more than 30 years ago with a desire to understand all the complexities of a Rwandan Arabica and unlock its full potential.
Our Story
It began years ago as a family passion project to give an opportunity to friends and family to taste & enjoy some of Rwanda’s best coffee, which is why we decided our brand be named after our founder, Pedro.
Over time, people developed an acute interest for our product, mostly coffee enthusiasts, who particularly preferred our roast-to-order model and small batch production system. This allowed us to offer every single customer a freshly roasted bag of Pedro’s Coffee with all its aroma and other goodies at peak levels.
How We Do It
Our coffee is hand-roasted, highly defined & differentiated; we aim to model the wine industry by distinguishing our harvest through our micro-region & single origin exclusivity efforts. Our ownership of the entire value chain of Pedro’s Coffee makes this a reality!
Solely grown, produced & selected from our Muyongwe CWS at an altitude of more than 6,500Ft, this boutique artisanal coffee has consistently been recognized as some of Rwanda’s best, scooping multiple awards and recognitions along the way.
Unlike most, we have invested the necessary effort and resources to ensure impeccable quality in all aspects of Pedro’s Coffee; from the harvest, to the cup selection & roasting and even the packaging. We don’t want our customers to simply consume our coffee, but to experience it altogether!
Coffee With A Purpose
We thrive hard to work hand in hand with our farming communities by providing them with training programs to ensure their better farming & brighter futures and that our coffee is socially and ethically sourced
Throughout the years, we have maintained excellent relationships with our partner farmers in Muyongwe and continue to provide incentives, including but not limited to income redistribution, regular trainings & sensitizing on good farming practices and extending credit to alleviate cash burdens.
These actions have led to a higher standard of living, more access to education and thus a higher child literacy rate. Most notably, our farming community in Muyongwe achieved a 99% universal healthcare coverage (Mutuelle) in February 2020!
We’re thrilled to invite you on this beautiful journey and hope you enjoy our exceptionally delightful coffee!
